"Money is our item of the century because it is linked to all of us in one way or another. Money is not a new thing to us. It has been around since the birth of this nation, with even the first settlers coming here in search of gold. Money has its own story and past, and will continue to play a big part in the future.

"Money has help our nation together and split us apart like in the Great Depression. Back then we had a bad shortage of money, and look how much it affected us. Money may only be a piece of paper, but it is worth so much more than that. It contains some of our most important symbols. Like our first president, and many buildings we feel are symbolic.

"Money has shaped our country as well. Compared to most nations we have a high standard of living. We can do so many things, in our everyday lives, with money that we take them for granted. Money also provides for our needs like shelter and food. Just imagine without these things we couldn't survive.

"Along with money comes power and respect. Money has made our big companies, and some of which have helped shaped America. With money you can usually get more respect from people around you. Your lifestyle depends on your money also. Like how you grow up and where you live. I bet you didn't think money had such a big impact.

"Money has also played an important role in everyday life and will continue to do so in the future. We have done so many things like going to the moon or creating new inventions to make life a little easier. Just think, where do you think we will be going or doing next with money?"
