"I propose a celebration of the value of the millions of unique
individuals that exist in our land, with all their differences, raucous
brashness, introversions, extroversions, creativity, perversities, annoying traits, the basis of our ideas of Democracy. Our literature, painting and sculpture is saturated with description and analysis of the myriad quirks of human behavior, testifying to the hypnotic fascination of this subject to the people who fashion our arts."
