Holiday at the White House

Help Site Map Text Only

From needlework toys and suits for Santa and Mrs. Claus, to beautiful glass expressions of the festivities, everywhere you look, the wonder and amazement of the holidays prevail. Thanks to the imagination and artistry of people from every part of the country.

This year, the President and First Lady would like the White House to reflect the December holidays as seen through the eyes of a child.

They chose Santa's Workshop as thisyear's holiday theme, to recognize the hopes and dreams of our next generation. As in pastyears, the First Family has invited specific groups and individuals from around the country tocreate ornaments to adorn the White House Christmas Tree. Members of The Council of FashionDesigners, The National Needlework Association, and the American Craft Council were invitedto create ornaments depicting characters or scenes from Santa's workshop.
