Interagency Task Force

On October 22, 1999 President Clinton created an Interagency Task Force on Nonprofits and Government. The purpose of this Task Force is twofold: first, to identify current forms of collaboration between the Federal Government and nonprofits; and second, to evaluate ways this collaboration can be improved.

The Task Force is specifically charged with three tasks:
  1. To develop a public inventory of "best practices" in existing collaborations between Federal agency programs and nonprofit organizations and examine ways that Federal agencies can better draw upon the experience and innovations of nonprofits in the development of public policy.
