This is supplemental funding to
Title I grantees, directed to be allocated by formula to eligible metropolitan
areas that have 30% or more African American and Latino HIV/AIDS cases in an
effort to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for African Americans
living with HIV/AIDS. |

Description of Initiative: |
Grants to support care and
access to care and research for children, women, youth and families affected by
HIV/AIDS. The majority of clients served by this program are from racial and
ethnic minority groups, specifically 48% African American, 30.8% Hispanic, and
9.6% other non-Caucasian. There are currently 48 grantees funded through Title
IV |
