greater detail, The President's Council On Sustainable Development has created
the following task forces.

The Task Force on Climate Change was created
to advise the President on domestic policy options and activities that could
reduce greenhouse gas emissions using approaches that maximize societal
benefits, minimize economic impacts, and are consistent with U.S. international
agreements.
The purpose of the Environmental Management Task Force was to advise the President on the next steps in building the new environmental management framework of the 21st Century.
The purpose of the International task force was
to advise the President on policies that foster U.S. leadership in sustainable
development internationally. Specifically, it shall promote the creation and
continuation of national sustainable development councils around the world.
The mission of the
Metropolitan and Rural Strategies Task Force was to encourage and support local
and regional collaboration among Federal, State, and local government agencies;
public interest and community groups; and businesses to advance sustainable
development in metropolitan and rural communities.
