Special Assistant to
the National Security Advisor


The Office advises and assists the President and the National Security Advisor on issues of national security and foreign policy with respect to international health. Among the issues addressed by the Office are: defense against bioterrorism; new and emerging infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Ebola; safety of our national food supply; international tobacco control; health of refugees and others affected by conflict and war; and prevention of health systems collapse in new democracies.
