At my request, the President’s Committee of Advisors on Science andTechnology has reviewed the Interim Report of the National Science Boardon Environmental Science and Engineering for the 21st Century.  PeterRaven and John Holdren led this very thoughtful effort, which includesadvice to me on how the National Science and Technology Council shouldaddress the report’s recommendation on reevaluating the government’s environmentalR&D portfolio.  I hope you find the PCAST comments useful as youprepare the final report.
