2000 State of the Union Address: State of the Union Framework

The President’s Upcoming State Of The Union Address

On Thursday, January 27th, the President will deliver his State of the Union Address to the Congress and the American people. The President will outline an agenda to make progress on priority issues -- and an important difference in the lives of the American people. The President will spend the year moving those issues forward by working with Congress, taking Executive Action and engaging the American people in a discussion about building our future.

The President will call on Americans to make the most of this time of profound promise and possibility to meet the challenges of a new century with new ideas informed by our enduring values.

The agenda the President outlines will be based on the same three, core principles that have guided his Administration for seven years: community, opportunity and responsibility.

Building a community of all Americans. Creating opportunity for all Americans. And demanding responsibility from all Americans.
