President Clinton today announced his intent to appoint G. William Ruhl as a member of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
Mr. G. William Ruhl, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, currently serves as Senior Vice President of D&E Communications, Inc., where he is responsible for Strategic Planning. Mr. Ruhl spearheaded the Company’s involvement in Hungary, which led to the formation of Monor Telefon Tarsasag (MTT), a Hungarian telephone company. Mr. Ruhl was Chairman of the Board of MTT from 1994 to 1999, when the company was sold. Prior to joining D&E, he served at Bell Atlantic and Bell of Pennsylvania for 30 years.
Mr. Ruhl received a B.S. degree from Lehigh University.
The President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) was established under Executive Order 12382 to provide the President with technical information and advice on national security telecommunications policy.
