PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES ARTHUR CHAPA AS MEMBER OF THE
U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY BOARD OF VISITORS
President Clinton today announced his intent to appoint Arthur Chapa
as a member of the U.S. Military Academy Board of Visitors.
Mr. Arthur Chapa, of Tucson, Arizona, is an attorney with general law
practice 1981. Throughout the past 20 years, Mr. Chapa has practiced law
in the following areas: governmental affairs, municipal law, Indian law and
business law. Prior to 1981, he spent eight years in the Pentagon as a
Military Historian with the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, an
Executive Intern, and a Foreign Affairs Specialist with the office of the
Secretary of Defense.
Mr. Chapa received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of
Arizona, a M.A. in History and Social Science from New Mexico Highlands
University and a J.D. from George Washington University Law Center.
The U. S. Military Academy Board of Visitors annually visits the
Academy and conducts inquiries regarding the morale and discipline,
curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic
methods, and other matters relating to the Academy.
