MARSHALL AS MEMBER OF THE FEDERAL RETIREMENT THRIFT INVESTMENT BOARD President Clinton today announced the recess appointment of Sheryl R. Marshall to serve as a member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. Ms. Marshall was nominated to the Senate on September 14, 2000. Ms. Sheryl R. Marshall, of Boston, Massachusetts, currently serves as a member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. Ms. Marshall also currently works as a Managing Director of Axxon Capital, Inc., a venture capital firm that she co-founded to invest in women- and minority-owned high-tech start-up companies. Previously, Ms. Marshall served on the Board of the Thrift Fund of Massachusetts where she chaired the Investment Committee. Ms. Marshall also spent several years working at various investment firms such as Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, Solomon Smith Barney, Drexel Burnham Lambert, and Merrill Lynch. Ms. Marshall received a B.A. from Emerson College and an M.B.A. from Simmons College. The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board is responsible for managing the Thrift Savings Fund, a special tax-deferred savings fund established by the Federal Employees? Retirement System Act of 1986. Program administration for the Thrift Savings Fund is financed from the Fund. 30-30-30
