Dr. Michael B. Levy, of Washington, D.C., is Distinguished Profess= or at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he teaches= classes in Business Ethics and Business and Public Policy. Dr. Levy is also le= gislative consultant to Brownstein, Hyatt and Farber, a law firm based in Denver,= Colorado and Washington, DC. In 1993, Dr. Levy was appointed by President Clint= on to serve as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs for the U.S. Depar= tment of Treasury under Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen. In 1995, he became Se= nior Advisor to Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin. During his tenure at Treas= ury, he led the Agency?s team which helped pass interstate banking legislation,= the assault weapons ban, the Brady Bill, NAFTA, the W.T.O., and President C= linton?s 1993 budget reconciliation package. From 1987 to 1993, Levy served as = Chief of Staff to former Senator Lloyd Bentsen. He served as staff economist at= the Joint Economic Committee from 1985 to 1987, and from 1978 to 1985, was = Associate Professor at Texas A&M University, gaining tenure in 1984. Dr. Levy received a B.S. from Brown University and his Ph.D. in Po= litical Science from Rutgers University. The purpose of the Commission for the Preservation of America?s He= ritage Abroad is to identify and publish a list of those cemeteries, monuments= , and historic buildings located abroad, which are associated with the foreig= n heritage of U.S. citizens from eastern and central Europe.
