    PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES CRAIG JAROLIMEK AS A MEMBER OF THE ADVISORY
                COMMITTEE FOR TRADE POLICY AND NEGOTIATIONS

     The President today announced his intent to appoint Craig Jarolimek to
the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN).

     Mr. Craig Jarolimek, of Forest River, North Dakota, is President of
the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC).  He is also the owner and
manager of his family?s farm and hog operation.  Along with his duties as
President, Mr. Jarolimek has served and chaired the Environment Committee,
the State and National Relations Committee and the Budget Committee of the
NPPC.  In 1987 he was selected as Outstanding Young Farmer of North Dakota.
Mr. Jarolimek and his wife were among the North Dakota Jaycees Family of
the Year recipients.

      The Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN)
provides overall
policy and advice on matters concerning objectives and bargaining positions
before entering into a trade agreement and other matters arising in
connection with U. S. Trade policy.  ACTPN is broadly representative of key
sectors and groups of the economy, particularly with respect to
those groups which are affected by trade.
