First Lady

Designated a national park in 1906, Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado contains the world's best-preserved collection of pre-Columbian cliff dwellings. Today remnants of this ancestral Puebloan culture are in grave danger from erosion. Mrs. Clinton announced new support to help save these national and world treasures while in Mesa Verde (5/22/99).
