Conduct surveys of federal, state and local prisons and inmates and publish results in periodic reports.

Descriptions
  1. When published, the 1995 Survey on Probation, the 1996 Survey of Inmates in Local Jails, and the 1997 Survey of State and Local Federal Inmates in Adult Correctional Facilities will contain estimates of HIV prevalence among probationers and inmates, and characteristics of this HIV positive population.
  2. Publication of reports describing findings of multi-year project, "HIV Education in Lockups and Booking Facilities."
  3. 1994 Survey of HIV/AIDS in Correctional Facilities.
  4. Publication of 1996 report "HIV/AIDS and STDs in Juvenile Facilities."
  5. Census of prison, survey of jail and prison inmates and probationers, and study examining research on prevention programs directed towards at persons whose behavior makes them vulnerable to HIV infection.
