America's Job Bank, which was established in 1979, help the states to offer employers national exposure of their job openings; this in turn helps the American laborforce. JobWeb is sponsored by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The JobsLibrary maintained by the FedWorld Information Network, is updated daily. The Department of Interior Automated Vacancy Announcement System provides electronic access to notices of job opportunities in the Department.


Department of Labor

The United States Department of Labor is responsible for preparing the American workforce for new and better jobs and to ensure the adequacy of America's workplaces. The various agencies of the DOL include the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, Employment Standards Administration, and Benefits Review Board among others. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, is the fact-finding agency of the Federal Government in Labor Economics and Statistics. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has a Public Access FTP server, which carries current and historical data for surveys like Employment Cost Index, International Labor Statistics etc.The Employment and Training Administration, an agency of the DOL, aims to ensure accessibility of proper resources for the US population and businesses in their job lives. The Women's Bureau, a DOL agency is the single exclusive unit at the Federal Government concerned with serving and promoting interests of working women.


Miscellaneous

The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for undergraduateand graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn moneyto help pay education expenses.
